International sites pull both current conditions and the 5-day outlook from ECMWF — the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts deterministic model — served via Open-Meteo. METAR (the operational airport report cycled hourly worldwide, via NOAA's Aviation Weather Center) is what Tony reaches for when reading raw observations directly; in-browser it's CORS-blocked, so the dashboard runs on ECMWF analysis instead. Sunrise, sunset, and moon phase compute locally from astronomical formulas — no network call needed.
